Running 6+33 minutes

June 12th, 2007

Tine didn’t feel so good, so she skipped her running today and I think it was a wise decision as you will not gain anything by forcing yourself if your body says no.

Instead I took 6 minutes of warm up in the same pace as Tine and I usual run in before I went on to my 6660 meters as my recovery week are over and now I can add again. The weather was warm today (24.7dg C.) but not as warm as last Sunday and it was a bit windy too so I had no problem doing the distance this time.

Actually I was feeling so good that I thought I would finally break the 5:00 minute/Km again but when I got home and looked at the average speed it was 5.01 minute/Km - well it couldn’t be more close and as it was the fastest I have runned for long with the pulse limit at 150 I have to be pleased.

Running 28+30 minutes

June 10th, 2007

Today it was Tines last day on her running program. The plan was to run 30 minutes but as always plans might be one thing and what happens in the real world is another. After 20 minutes she was more or less used up and after 28 minutes she had to stop.

She is rather disappointed but if you ask me, I think she did very good ! 28 minutes are the longest she has ever run and it’s 2 minutes more than her previous record. And taken the circumstances I even think it was very good as it was a very hot day 26.3dg C. (79.3dg F.) and way higher in the sun !

After running with Tine I went for my 6040 meters and after about 3Km I too started to get into trouble because of the heat especially at keeping the pulse under my 150. Well I finished all 6040 meters with an average speed of 5:03 minute/Km and was happy that I didn’t have to run any further.

Maybe 26.3dg C. dosn’t sound of much but if you’re not used to run in such warm weather then you will run into trouble as both Tine and I did.

Sunset

June 10th, 2007

I have taken some more sunset photos and added to my online photo album. Those were taken June 5th to June 8th.

The last picture here is rather over exposed but I think it has a cool effect !

Bicycling 30Km

June 9th, 2007

Yet again a very nice and rather hot summer day here in Denmark. I decided to try to alter my 26Km route and make it a bit longer by looking at maps (on the internet where else ? - I use www.map24.dk). I managed to find a little detour without having to pass towns that I thought could have traffic lights or other annoying obstacles.

And I was right, my detour was really good - going through very nice nature and passing nice fields etc. It was a bit hilly too but that’s what I like. Only downside was that most of the road was rather narrow and there was quite a lot of curves so it’s not that fast but in some way it makes it fun too. The total distance ended with 30.6 Km (19 miles).

Well all in all this new route was great and I will for sure use it again. I was not pushing to get a good time, especially on the detour as I have never been on those roads before, but at the end with about 8 Km left I started to push a little - guess you know me…. I ended up with a great average speed of 30.5 Km/h (almost 19 miles/h).

Bicycling 26Km

June 8th, 2007

It’s just wonderful to ride the bicycle those days with this kind of weather we are having now.
Decided to take the 26Km (16miles) route I like so much and just enjoy it, not pushing too hard. Ok, the last 6Km I was pushing a little as I discovered that I might end up with an average pace of 30Km/h.

I had a really nice ride and ended with an average pace of 30.1 Km/h (18.8 miles/h).
